How “The Past Comes to Life” Was Created
In 1997, while spending time with my 91-year-old grandfather at my condominium, I introduced him to my computer and demonstrated its capabilities. Observing his amazement, it struck me that he had witnessed an extraordinary range of developments throughout his lifetime—spanning the entirety of the 20th century. Inspired by this realization, I asked if he would allow me to interview him on video and create a “This Is My Life” project that captured his unique story. He smiled warmly and agreed.
During our sessions, I asked him about his earliest memories, childhood experiences, and family recollections, as well as the significant historical events he had lived through as a child, young adult, and in later years. The process was captivating for both of us, and the video became a cherished centerpiece during his 100th birthday celebration, where our family gathered to watch his life story unfold.
This experience ignited a passion in me to create similar projects, not only for people I knew but for individuals whose stories I would come to know deeply through the interviewing and editing process. And so, “The Past Comes to Life” was born so others could have a video biography of their own to share with generations to come.

Our Process
We give you the means to provide a broad and informative basis for your story . It IS incumbent upon you to collect photos and or videos from your collection or that of your family, friends or associates. After you have answered all of the questions that pertain to your life story , you submit that to us in order to prepare for the interview.

After speaking with you over the course of the interview , our editors are in a good position to skim through your answers and comments. We edit these to provide you and your family with cogent and intimate sections for each aspect of your life.

Thank you for the great documentary production for my parents’ 50th anniversary! It was great to collaborate on the project, and my folks and family were thrilled with the results! I encourage anyone who wants to bring meaning, nostalgia and connectedness to the stories of their family’s life and history to work with you on this kind of project. You helped us bring the past to the present day in a way that can last forever. Thanks!
